MREA Course Facilitation

MREA Workshop Facilitation On occasion, the MREA needs volunteers to help manage tasks during a workshop. These tasks include helping the instructor prepare the room, handing out course resources, and picking up and organizing materials at the end of the day – a full list of roles and responsibilities follows. In return for these services, the MREA will reimburse the facilitator’s course fee.

WORKSHOP FACILITATOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pay Rate: Volunteer
Compensation: Workshop tuition waived
Responsible to: MREA Workshop Coordinator – Chad Wolf (715) 592-6595 ext.111 chad@the-mrea.org
General Purpose: Assist the MREA, workshop instructors and students during workshops.

Pre Workshop:

  • Coordinate workshop materials with Workshop Coordinator
  • Arrive one hour prior to workshop start
  • Open workshop location (To Be Determined)
  • Prepare coffee and snacks for students (Custer only)
  • Aid instructor in classroom and equipment set-up

During Workshop

  • Greet and assist students as they arrive
  • Take attendance (very important)
  • Hand out and/or collect workshop materials
  • Collect outstanding fees from students (If needed, To Be Determined)
  • Assist workshop instructor as needed during the workshop
  • Handle MREA bookshop sales (Weekends in Custer Only)
  • Hand out and collect course evaluations, roster, liability forms, etc.

Post Workshop

  • Clean up classroom at end of workshop
  • Put away perishable food and snacks
  • Dishes/Coffee cups to kitchen
  • Prepare clean cups/spoons if multiple day workshop
  • Lights off & Lock building

  • Ability to count cash and change/add sales tax
  • Write receipts for book/marketplace purchases

The MREA’s mission is to promote renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living through education and demonstration. We believe:

To ensure consistency and quality in the delivery of our training programs, the MREA has aligned its policies and procedures with those outlined by the Institute for Sustainable Power Quality (ISPQ). The MREA is an ISPQ accredited training facility and follows a framework of standards and metrics that provide a means to compare content, quality, and resources across a broad range of training programs covering renewable energy, energy efficiency and distributed generation technologies.

As part of this accreditation, all staff, instructors, and volunteers who participate in our training programs must read and agree to the following principles outlined in the ISPQ Code of Ethics:

  • Practice non-discrimination;
  • Avoid all conflicts of interest, both in fact and in appearance;
  • Maintain all confidential and proprietary information in the strictest confidence;
  • Release personal information about applicants and students only in accordance with specific policies requiring notification and, under most circumstances, permission;
  • Commit to safe practices and the teaching of safety principles to the extent that I interact with students;
  • Commit to bringing professionalism, accountability, and integrity to this work;
  • Immediately report any and all incompetent, unethical, and/or unprofessional conduct by associates or clients to my supervisor or to the administrator of the ISPQ Certification;
  • Not make any statement or take any action that could bring the client, the accrediting body, the process, the industry, or the credential into disrepute.
