The 2008 Energy Fair is a record breaking success!
Thank you to all who helped make a great 2008 Energy Fair!

We just wrapped up our 19th annual Energy Fair, June 20-22. It was the best Energy Fair yet, with over 22,500 attendees - an all time record! That's 3,000 more than last year, a nearly 15% increase in attendance.

THANK YOU to all the exhibitors, presenters, volunteers and attendees who made it such a memorable event.

General Energy Fair Information
Since 1990, the Energy Fair has shown fairgoers how to change the world while having fun. Each summer the Fair transforms rural central Wisconsin into the global hot spot for renewable energy education. The Energy Fair is the world's largest renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living educational event of its kind. Please join us this year!

The Energy Fair features hundreds of workshops and exhibits all emphasizing clean energy & sustainable living and is fun for the whole family.

  • Mass transit offered from Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay/Appleton, Chicago and Minneapolis.

Pets are not allowed at the Energy Fair. No dogs or other pets will be allowed in parking lots, fairgrounds, or campgrounds. You can keep your pet safe and comfortable at one of the following kennels:
  • Wag Inn Kennels, Custer (just down the road from the Energy Fair!): 715-592-4972

  • Camp Bandy Pet Resort, Amherst Junction: 715-824-3900

    TravelGreenLogo.jpg Energy Fair Receives Travel Green Certification

    The Energy Fair has been certified as a green tourist event by Travel Green Wisconsin. Travel Green Wisconsin is a pilot program the Wisconsin Department of Tourism sponsors to recognize tourism-related businesses that are reducing their environmental impact through operational and other improvements. To gain Travel Green certification businesses have to meet several goals including showing how they encourage staff and vendors to be environmentally aware and how they reduce their solid waste generation and energy consumption.

    The Energy Fair was recognized for the following best practices:

    • All food is served on reusable or biodegradable plates and food waste is composted
    • Shower house for guests is heated by solar water heating system
    • Carpooling is encouraged through rideshare page on website
    • Organic, local, and fair trade products are purchased
