Join Us to Help Kick Off the Milwaukee Solar Hot Water Business Council
Friday March 26 from 2:30-4 pm
As part of GREEN ENERGY SUMMIT at Midwest Airlines Center
What is the Solar Hot Water Business Council? The Solar Hot Water Business Council is an offshoot of the City of Milwaukee’s solar program Milwaukee Shines. Milwaukee is well suited in becoming a solar hot water components manufacturing cluster because of its: proximity to an emerging local SHW market, access to a booming national and global market, access to an abundant and fresh water source, manufacturing expertise (Milwaukee is home to over 3,000 manufacturers many of whom produce easily adapted components), availability of state incentives for renewable energy components manufacturing, and availability of land for business expansion or relocation.
As part of the report’s recommendations, Milwaukee Shines received funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to kick-start the Council. Although we are in the formative stage, the Council’s mission is: to grow the SHW industry in the Milwaukee 7 region through the cultivation and education of businesses and manufacturers; to support businesses as they enter the SHW manufacturing and supply chain markets; and to increase the number of local manufacturers that produce SHW components.
If you are interested in Milwaukee developing a solar hot water cluster, evolving your own company and/or championing the cause, join us! Contact Andrea Luecke at Milwaukee Shines for more info and to RSVP!
