This 320-Watt photovoltaic solar array installed in May 2000,
at the ReNew the Earth Institute consists of four 80-Watt Kyocera panels mounted on a single-axis tracker manufactured by WattSun.
In the morning the array points east to catch the rising sun.
As the sun climbs higher in the sky the array slowly turns to keep the panels pointed directly at the sun.
At the end of the day, the unit resets itself to point east again until morning.
If desired, the tilt of the unit could be manually adjusted on a seasonal basis to boost output even further.
This sturdy unit has withstood winds in excess of 60 mph (96 km/hr).
